These three thingsHelvetica, ITC and Steve Jobsall collided in 1984, the year that the first Macintosh computer, replete with typefaces, was released.The Macintosh core font set was a combination of the then-most popular typefaces and typefaces that filled out a stylistic and functional range, with the latter being chosen by the dominant type manufacturers at that time. His fonts have been widely copied and are still produced and in use today. The typefaces Garamond produced between 15 are considered the typographical highlight of the 16th century. After Garamond’s death, Christoph Plantin from Antwerp, the Le Bé type foundry and the Frankfurt foundry Egenolff-Bermer acquire a large proportion of Garamond’s original punches and matrices. The books are set using typefaces designed by Garamond. The first book he published is "Pia et Religiosa Meditatio" by David Chambellan. From 1545 onwards: Garamond also works as a publisher, first with Pierre Gaultier and later with Jean Barbe. He was an expert printer who ran a printing-office under the Duke of Parma. Garamond’s ensuing Grec du Roi is used by Robert Estienne in three sizes exclusively for the printing of Greek books. Bodoni typeface is named after its creator, Giamattista Bodoni. 1540: King Francis I commissions Garamond to cut a Greek type. It is based on Aldus Manutius’ type De Aetna, cut in 1455. Over the course of roughly 300 years, Roman typefaces transitioned from what we classify as old styleas epitomized by the work of Claude Garamond and William Caslonto the transitional (John Baskerville, etc. 1530: Garamond’s first type is used in an edition of the book "Paraphrasis in Elegantiarum Libros Laurentii Vallae" by Erasmus.
